The way spirit described integration of self is letting go of parts of you that no longer serve you while blending in present you and making space for future you. Letting go doesn't mean ignoring or pretending certain things didn't happen. Love and have empathy for past you even when there were actions made that, in your eyes, were not right. The past has happened and there's nothing that can be done about that except to put that energy into change.
When is empathy a superpower to use and when is it something that is keeping you from making a decision? Do you have so much empathy for yourself to the point where no change is made? Be sensitive towards yourself without making excuses and trying to prevent changes. One of the ways to embrace change is to stay curious. Be open to learning new things about yourself and taking calculated risks. These new experiences help shape you and put lessons that needed to be learned to the test.
After these new experiences don't be surprised if people naturally leave your life. We have a habit of hanging onto others because of comfort. If the only thing you enjoy about them being in your life is because they've been in your life for a while, then that's really not a great reason to continue being in each other's lives. Sometimes people just grow apart because core beliefs no longer align. It doesn't have to be you let go because of something you or they did to the other.
Once you know your own core beliefs it's important to surround yourself and build a community with those who have the same core beliefs. Holding strong in these builds a deep connection with yourself and those around you.
